Another great Extras episode guys. None of Mike's sound samples seemed to come through which was a shame apart from the zombie one which was very brief.
Found it really interesting on the Gatsby and the Great Race campaign setting by Paul, and the way it was run in the past at the convention, sounds amazing in the way it was done and the impact it had on the mixed rooms full of players with the corridor concept too.
The Alien Earth discussion was very good, it's been an interesting topic of discussion all over the internet hasn't it, with many folk enjoying the fresh take on things with the mix of Xenomorphs and new alien lifeforms, plus the android variants, and the corporate powerplays between Prodigy and Yutani; but then equally just as many haters it would see which is a shame. Personally I'm enjoying it and have found the storyline very interesting, the characters full of depth and intrigue, and literal similarities to Peter Pan from not just the simple naming but the background powerplays and manipulation amongst what amounts to the "lost boys" gang of children, whether it's the adults trying to control them, get them to do the dirty work, or their young minds growing up too fast to handle the horrors of what they've experienced. The horror is approached from so many angles in this show from the expected xenomorph threat, the unknown intentions of the synthetics, the hybrids living on the edge, the new aliens and how dangerous they are, to actual invasive body horror and gore where no-one/nothing is safe basically.
Yes, I think we're on the same page regarding Alien Earth! Personally, I've fallen behind now after my visit to Australia, but I'm definitely going to catch up with it once I get over my Traitors addiction!
Speaking of Alien, I've just had an email through about my kickstarter fulfilment for backing the Evolved Edition of the Alien RPG by Free League. I've already backed a few of their Alien releases but this is a new edition of the core rules that will include a new starter set and miniatures as well, including elements from the Alien Romulus movie too. I think it's due for postage in November, so I'm very excited :)
Strangely enough I haven't had much exposure to the Traitors tv show, and still don't know much about it lol.... I'm really behind on it all. I must look it up.
